High security number plates are already installed in all trains coming from 2012 onwards, whereas earlier trains do not have high security number plates. Apart from this, high security number plates have been installed in only 2.6 lakh trains since October 2, 2018.

Also, on the High Security number plate, Dahiya said that the tender was put out twice to put the plates on the old trains, but this did not get a response from the dealers. For this reason, 236 vehicle dealers are being identified for placing high security number plates on old two-wheelers and cars.

Therefore, it is important to have a high security number plate – According to an official of the ministry, from April 1, 2019, high security number plates are being implemented for all trains by the ministry. All notifications related to this have also been issued three months ago. Apart from this, many RTOs are registering new vehicles with normal number plates, ignoring the rules. Due to this, the Ministry has taken this step. The ministry says that it may be necessary to link auto dealers to the vehicle database after installing a high security number plate.

What are the benefits of HSRP – HSRP cannot be manipulated in any way. The registration mark in it, chromium-based hologram sticker, is such that it will spoil the attempt on removal. The stickers on it will have information including the registration number of the vehicle, registered authority, laser branded permanent number, engine and chassis number.

Policy for old vehicles – According to the ministry, high security registration plates can also be placed on existing vehicles, which can come with the third registration mark. The number plates on the existing vehicles will be supplied to the high security registration plate manufacturer or supplier dealers notified by the State Governments, which will be installed on the old vehicles.
